Rose Gate

I was inspired to make this gate after seeing a fabulous round metal gate at a friends house. I can't do metal work, (yet) but I can do wood. I looked at a few artistic gates for inspiration, but couldn't find anything I really liked, so, unusually, I designed my own. you can see the original drawing on the left. I think I got a bit carried away with the materials and the finished gate was so heavy I had to shore up the shed it was attached to! 

I also think I chose the materials poorly. I used decking for the panels of the gate, and of course decking expands and shrinks dramatically with the weather. Hey ho.
